Scorpio is the gate to transformation, the right use of will, and the power to self-actualizes. Its action is to create, renew, and transform, as it moves through the three stages of evolution. From the Scorpions sting (the personality- centered individual) to the Eagle's Flight, (the awakening soul) to the highest state represented by the Phoenix, (the Soul Centered individual)… one who has walked the path of extremes from the fires of hell to the fires of transformation and resurrection. Evolution is Scorpion energy… transforming matter into the next evolutionary form and stage. This is the heart of the great mystery.
Most of us shutter when we mention Scorpio, we think of the Scorpion's sting, but we must also recognize some of the "best of humankind" come from the evolved state of Scorpio. This is an intense, obsessive energy, the sign of extremes; but without extremism, we would not have discoveries. Great medical insights and discoveries come from the sextile between Virgo and Scorpio. It is interesting to note here how similar these signs are: Virgo Å and Scorpio Ç, Virgo is the womb of new ideas, thoughts, newborn baby's, birth, commitments, resolutions and health; Scorpio is the birth canal that pushes this new entity into manifestation through sheer determination and strong will. In addition, it is the creative force of existence, for without it, our universe would not change, but sit in the waters of creativity in a motionless static state. The Sun's time in Scorpio is October 23, to November 21 and the ruling planets are Mars and Pluto, while Uranus is exalted in it. This makes for very intense regenerative energies, and if used with integrity and heart can produce transformational miracles. On the other hand, these three energies can create the good the bad or the ugly of consequences behind tainted motivations.
Scorpio is the ruler of the 8th house of the zodiac and represents other people's money, banks, the stock exchange, insurance companies, support from others, big business, the sharing of recourses such as the partner's money, or other goods, taxes, and recycling. In addition, investigation, crime, research, criminal psychology, private detectives, and secrecy. The 8th house is known as the house of sex, sexual preferences, passions, birth, regeneration, and death. It creates an interest in the afterlife, beliefs about death, mediums, and inheritances, legacies the goods and services of the dying, and the process of transformation and the letting go of self-will. There is an interest in the hidden or occult mysteries and life after death experiences.
The sign on the 8th house cusp of your astrology chart tells us the energy preferences and tendencies you will manifest in this power position.
Aries - strong, passionate sexual energy, investing other's money, action orientated, may be insecure, angry, or controlling.
Taurus - money orientated, sexual matters important, touch, and smell, candles, romance are important. Helpful financially to partners, spouse, determined approach, interest in hidden mysteries.
Gemini - search for understanding of yourself and occult knowledge (hidden mysteries)
Research and gather information, search for the truth. Writing about higher knowledge, mysteries, sex, science, research. Need intellectual relationship as well as sexual. Likes to engage in pillow talk, tantric breathing may be right up your alley.
Cancer - ability for premonition through sensitivity, but may feel anxious or uneasy. Nurturing in sexual matters, needs peace and quiet, breakfast in bed? Running water puts you at ease and you may rendezvous by the water, in the water, or the shower! Financial sense in real estate, matters connected to the home, the past, antiques.
Leo - usually leaders financial fields, investing, may be free with partner's money, dramatic in sexual matters, role-playing in the bedroom, takes the lead and not afraid to go after what they want. Happy and enthusiastic, may be controlling if Capricorn rises.
Virgo - health, palliative care, hospice; may be shy about sex, cleanliness, can be lusty as this sign has an easy flow to Scorpio. If Aquarius rises, fussy about lighting, can be adventurous. Practical about handling other's money, good at banking, brokerage, Writing. Needs proof when researching the hidden mysteries, if Aquarius rises, astrology may interest them.
Libra - romantic, sensual, likes to set the mood for sexual matters. Shows affection in public. Careful about finances, banking, good manager of other's money.
Scorpio - passion, intensity, can be possessive, jealous. Could be attracted to porn or have sexual obsessions. Good at handling money, and careers of the same. Can be a reoccupation with death.
Sagittarius - happy optimistic, interest in religious matters of life after death and belief systems. Wants to know the truth. In sex needs freedom to be creative, not a real needy sign as far as sex goes, partners may be foreigners, persons met at churches, higher learning institutions, or while traveling. Can receive financial backing from others, benefits from relationships and children.
Capricorn - Mangers of money. Responsibility, Big business, government, politics. Careful with money, and joint finances. Depending on the ascendant, there may be the need to prove oneself in sexual matters, this may be the one that has control over themselves in the bedroom and can last all night!
Aquarius - In the area sex, this one is adventuresome and may invent a new way of doing things! Often quick to react, or expect the unexpected! Just when they wanted to slow down, things can happen too fast! You can connect with your lover and tap your intuition. You are a free thinker when it comes to all matters of this house. Other people's money come and go in unexpected ways, if Cancer rises you could be prone to depression. Aquarius is interested in the hidden knowledge and may be interested in extraterrestrials, UFO's astrology, or astronomy.
Pisces - intuitive, sensitive ability, imaginative, dreamy. May have dreams regarding the issues of this house…and dreams of their ideal love; this is the one who wants to take your picture, or paint your portrait! or watch video's in bed. They enjoy working with charities, or helping others. With difficult aspects to Neptune there can be hidden or deceptive information regarding money, sex, assets shared with others. Caution when using drugs or alcohol, and needs to have a second opinion in health matters.
This constellation is linked to the Babylonian myth of the struggle between the light and darkness. Marduk was known as the God of light and struggled against Tiamat, the watery monster. The Egyptian myth was the Scorpion killing Osiris, who was reborn again as Horus. It was the Scorpion that took others into the underworld, as portrayed in the tale of Ceres and Persephone (as described under the section and sign of Virgo).
In other myths, the Scorpion is transformed into an Eagle, or comes out of the fires of the underground and is transfigured as the Rising Phoenix. We all have heard of wonderful stories of rebels and criminals who have had religious experiences in jail or otherwise, and have become some of society's best citizens. In each account or tale, the storyline is similar, and consists of a breakdown and decay of the energy it once was, and is transformed into a new and greater form through the dazzling light of metamorphosis.
If you have contact in your chart with any of the fixed stars, you will take on the temperament and qualities of the same. It is important to see how the contacts are working in your chart…are they in positive or negative aspect to other planets.
Antares - located at 9° Sagittarius, on the body of the Scorpion

This is the Star of Joan of Arc - it led her to great success, but she did not know when to stop and was captured and put to death.
This is the star of extremes; where one will go intentionally or unintentionally. Success is guaranteed, but only with great effort and determination. Great discoveries, inventions, and deeds are made by those who have this star. However, one must watch how far they are going.
Graffias - located at Sagittarius 2° in the head of the Scorpion, and is the nature of Mars and Saturn and can be negative in nature. Other astrologers give it traits such as honor, wealth, materialistic, too active a mind, success after many difficult ties, athletic, suffers from over-exertion, extravagant and ahs many debts, science, inventions, religious.
Acumen - located at 28° Sagittarius, Aculeus - located at 25° Sagittarius
It rose or set at Capricorn or Cancer 5°,
and set at 21° Sagittarius or Gemini.
This star culminates or was on the nadir (4th house cusp) at 0° Capricorn or Cancer. Furthermore, this star, and its neighbor Aculeus both can be described as the Scorpion
Sting. The Sabian symbols describe 5° Cancer it as a 'Karmic Adjustment'. Acumen can give eyesight problems, illness, and disfavor, while Aculeus is given to blindness. These two stars can be seen symbolically as giving trouble with insight, or inner vision. Brady says that these two stars are connected to attacks, physical, mental, verbal, or spiritual; and creates challenges, makes you subject to gossip, or you are the actual gossip. In addition, it can cause threats to your health and warns of your own anger outbursts.
Scorpio's more often than not, get a bad review when it comes to character. They are actually the sign that has tremendous power and determination, which can cause a complete metamorphosis of being. Thus the age-old symbology of the Phoenix Rising out of the ashes, or the eagle flying high above the chaos.
The positive traits of Scorpio are: intensity of purpose, getting the job done, ability to see through any situation, an inquiring mind to get to the bottom of any matter, research ability, powerful will, feelings and emotions, discerning, persistent, determined, and self disciplined .They make great researchers, detectives, policemen/woman, tax consultants, criminal lawyers, criminologists, bankers, or any profession handling other's recourses or money, insurances, surgeons, archeologists, oilmen, mystery writers, psychics, mystery and occult trades, depth psychologists, or any other occupations that requires investigation, probing, and transformation of people, places, or things.
Scorpio's seem to have a pre-occupation with sex; it shows in their choice of words, the way they dress, their body language, the movies, or books they pick and so forth. It is there innate character to create, and transform with passion and intensity. Perhaps this is the energy that created the universe, the ying, and yang, the male and female, the creative force.
Now, on the darker side, they can be vengeful, resentful, abusive, controlling, criminal in nature, jealous, obstinate, stubborn, secretive, compulsive, suspicious and use their sexuality in a demoralizing way.
The personality disorders associated with this sign are… obsessive -compulsive disorder, anti-social behavior, addictions, avoidant personality disorder, schizophrenia disorders, and any paranoid or psychotic tendencies antagonistic disorders, sexual deviations, sexual performance disorders, and any psychological disorders that may be inherited. Scorpio is the sign of death, therefore there can be premonitions, fears, and obsessions with death and the afterlife. The signs Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer are water signs and are associated with the emotional nature and the subconscious. Many great psychologists and psychiatrists come from this sign, as they know instinctively how to process the layers of the mind.
It is Scorpio's energetic flow to the depths of the unknown that can eventually transform his mind, body, and soul.
The ascendant rules the personality; therefore, what I have said regarding the character traits is equally the same here. In addition, there is personal magnetism and a dynamic personality. Moreover, if Pluto is on or near the ascendant, these people often meet persons who are famous or important figures of society.
Scorpio's are here for transformation, redemption, and salvation. Wherever Scorpio falls in your chart look to that house for clues as to what requires inner work. What seems to be of importance is to look at the personal life and the opportunities for self-expression and self-actualization. Jung called this the process of individualization. The sign Scorpio rules death and transformation. Scorpio is here to metaphorically die to the lower self, the personality centered person, and give birth to the higher self, the soul centered person. Herein lays the mystery of life and death. Once he or she can see within and embrace and heal the shadow self they can regenerate their very being and DNA. This process is called 'The Initiation of the Soul' and opens the doorways into higher realms of consciousness. At this stage, he realizes that he is much more than he ever dreamed and his true worth, talent and spiritual gifts are then revealed.
Now he can use his Plutonian- Scorpio nature to help regenerate the planet, humankind, and nature wherever his gifts are required.

Romans 8:16 God's spirit joins himself to our spirit to declare that we are his children (this occurs as a result of the transformation)
Romans 8:6 To be controlled by human nature results in death, to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace. (the decision to transform)
John 5:21 For as the father raises the dead and quickens them: in the same way, the son gives life to those he wants to. (the wake-up call, or quickening of awareness)
John 20:35-36 But the men and women who are worthy to rise from death and live in the age to come will not marry, they will be like angles and cannot die. They are the sons of God, because they have risen from death. (the death Jesus is talking about is the death that humankind is presently in; even when we are seemingly alive, we still do not see! We are not aware! We are dead inside, and until we can go within, face our darker side and make changes we are not able to rise ourselves up like the Phoenix Rising out of the ashes…When we are ready and willing to direct our will into alignment with Gods will, a miracle can happen... Then, the inner self, the soul, the spirit, is born again. This is called the second birth.
Scorpio rules the reproductive organs, colon, large intestine, eliminative outlets and channels, and prostate gland. Therefore, medical problems and illnesses connected with these organs are likely to manifest because Scorpio rules these parts of the body. In addition, Scorpio is connected with the root charka, the sacrum, and the coccygeal. The root charka tells us if we are grounded and connected to the earth, and reflects our ability to function in our day-to-day lives. It is our 'will to live' center, and is ruled by the planet mars….giving us the incentive to move forward in life and take action. The root charka is also called the 'seat of the kundalini'. This sacred energy, called Kundalini, lies dormant at the base of the spine in the sacrum until it is ready to 'come alive'. This creative force sleeps until we are ready to awaken. The consciousness and attitude of the person must be ripe or ready to open to higher states of consciousness. This occurs through the process of meditation, right use of will, and a major attitudinal and inner change, which creates the most important of all…. a forgiving and open heart. Once awakened, this energy facilitates heightened healing and other abilities to use for oneself, others, and our planet.
As you can see, the Scorpion is so much more than the sting, and I hope you learn to transform and transcend yourself like the Scorpion raised up on Eagles wings.

Your astrological chart is a psychological map of your personality; more specifically—your genetic coding. Your environment has also been an influence or perhaps has deepened your innate patterns.
We can change these by listening to our own intuition and surrendering to our higher self. Healing can take place through Grace ... the essence of unconditional love.
