The planet Mercury who is known as the God and/or Goddess of communication rules the sun sign Gemini. The Egyptian legend Hermes - Thrice Great, is famous for his title as the Messenger of the Gods and belongs in the family of Mercury and Gemini. Hermes is known for his higher knowledge and specifically his treatise on the spiritual laws of the universe. There was a special annual festival held in his honor on May 15 and was associated with merchants in 495 B.C. The sun Sign Virgo is also ruled by Mercury, which is similar to Gemini in some ways, but they do always agree each other's systems of relating. What they do have in common is curiosity and an aptitude for working with their intellect. Gemini gathers the information and talks about it, while. Virgo theorizes and analyses the data, and then places it into perfectly shaped files in our minds.
Mercury is also known for speed, movement and has fast nervous energy. The sign Gemini sits in the third house of the astrological mandala. Therefore, our mode of communication and our way of processing information is dictated by the signs and planets we have in this house.
Mercury is the closest planet to the sun and has an orbit of 88 days. It also goes Retrograde (changes direction) 3 times a year, and most of us know that this seemingly backward motion can cause havoc with all things with which Mercury is associated. Here are just a few of the things that Gemini and Mercury look after on this planet: the two halves of our brain, communication, debate, early childhood education, Siblings, writing, transportation, highways, cars, trucks, bicycles, traveling short distances within our community, postal service, contracts, speech, computers and schools.
Gemini's have the urge to acquire knowledge, communicate and teach others. However, as with any sun sign it does have its character defects, such as lacking direction and goals, inconsistent, excess nervous energy, scattered, sarcastic, mental strain and imbalances in the brain. In reference to health this sign and planet is associated with the pairs of the anatomy- hands, feet, lungs, shoulders, arms, hemispheres of the brain, as well as respiration and the nervous system. Therefore, you see Gemini and Mercury have to pay attention if everything is to work properly, and it looks to me like a very big job! No wonder there is so much confusion when this planet goes retrograde.
Gemini is an air sign and likes to think and information is very stimulating for this type. It is also a mutable sign; therefore, it can adjust very well and be adaptable to changing situations. Its gender is masculine, meaning it is assertive and likes to take action.
CASTOR (also known as Apollo) - the positive twin, located at 19° Cancer, is associated with a liking for politics, artistic talent, and the occult. A 'harp', gifts of healing, usually a good degree unless under affliction in which case there can be a physical deformity. Writing about positive information/novels. Also has some connection to marriage, perhaps because the twins are also known for representing unity or 'the united'.
POLLUX- (also known as Hercules, the negative twin, located at 22.7° Cancer. Means ruler or judge, one who suffers or labors. Connected to the arts of self-defense, e.g. boxing, fencing, karate, etc., ancient astrology, public ventures, rash or cruel, critical writer, or writing about the darker nature of things, music, and a seer.
ALHENA - is a bright star found in the left foot of Pollux and it means hurt, wounded or afflicted. Located at 7.59° Cancer. Is recognized for artistic ability, speaking ability, and sometimes promises more than he can actually deliver. Is unconventional, has hobby interests, and prone to accidents to the feet.
WASSET- this star is located in the middle of Pollux's body and means 'set or put in place, it also sits on the right arm of Castor and is located at 17.24° Cancer. This is a powerful degree and is associated with chemicals, poisons, gas, and the head of the pancreas and sometimes linked to limited opportunities.
Caster and Pollux were born to teach us about polar opposites and the art of reconciliation. Carl Jung, the great Swiss physiatrist, talked about the polarity we have within ourselves, the light of our true self, versus the hidden, dark, or shadow side of our minds.
(Acts, 28:11), the fated ship that that the Apostle Paul spoke of in this passage was called Castor and Pollux.
The story of Cain and Abel is also connected to Gemini and the polar opposite characters of the twins, (Genesis: 4).
Another similar story is that of the Prodigal Son. (Luke, 15:11)
These stories are associated with the twins Castor and Pollux who you will learn more about as you read on. You see, the Bible is really one of the most mystical books I have come across. The stories are all about the birth and mythical stories of the constellations as well as our own journey in consciousness. The keyword here is interpretation. If you search, you will find.
GEMINI is called the twins because of these legends of Castor and Pollux who are the twin sons of Leda and Jupiter. Their temples built in ancient Greece still stand today. In addition, the Jewish Mystical Kabbalah that translates hidden knowledge, names this constellation as the 19th Tarot symbol, the Sun, and the letters Qoph.
Sabian symbols are visual and audio symbols or representations set in the collective subconscious of humanity.
Carl Jung, the psychologist/ psychiatrist who I have previously mentioned, spent many years researching and talking to his patients about the subconscious, dream symbols, and the psychology of character traits in man. Through his 'great work', he formed a theory that humanity as a whole has a collective subconscious. Furthermore, he discussed his theory with Albert Einstein, who supported his discovery .Therefore, this established the fact we all have access to memories and events that have ever occurred on this planet and perhaps the universe. Access is through the well known statement, know thyself and the truth will set you free! Each degree of the zodiac carries certain character traits, medical/DNA codes that in turn are connected to the mathematical codes and traits of the stars, pulsars, wormholes, black holes and other space terminology.
Each time a new thought or belief goes out into the ethers of the mind of God, and the thought becomes accepted by a 'critical mass' of humanity, it forms a new thought wave. This in turn creates a visual or audio concept of the thought, e.g. a vision seen clairvoyantly, or a verbal/audio meaning which becomes real. E.g., we can read it, or hear it clairaudiently. Thus, a Sabian symbol is formed. For example, when we see a picture of a cross, Jesus, Gandhi, Yogananda, Mohammed, the Buddha and other religious figures, we think of religion and spiritual concepts. Likewise when we see traffic symbols or our own Sun sign we know what it means. These symbols were born somewhere in time, for example, they were first created as an idea or thought which left our minds as an energy form, and moved into an electro magnetic intelligent field of thought forms, in the mind of God. Thus, we are co-creators with this energy that formed the universe. It is when we take action that this thought form can and will become a reality. Think of a boomerang. What goes out must come back .Some of us call this energy God, others call it the Unified Field, the All, the Universe, the First Cause, the Mind of God, the Creator, or the Great Spirit. This is a simply put scientific explanation as to how we are creating our own reality and karma through the mind of God. Think of it this way, God is the hardware we are the software. If we do not like what we are manifesting in our life, we can always reprogram the software to a positive, tolerant, loving, model. And so it will be. "As a man thinketh, so he is."
Castor - 19° Cancer, A Priest performing a marriage ceremony, keyword is sanctified, the ritualization of productive interpersonal relationships. 20° Cancer, Venetian gondoliers giving a serenade, happiness as a overtone of social integration and conformity to custom, keyword, festivity (An Astrological Mandela, a contemporary North American I Ching, by Dane Rudhyar, pg.123, 124)
Pollux- 22° Cancer, A young Woman awaiting a sailboat, the longing for transcendent happiness, in the soul open to great dreams, keyword, and expectancy
23° Cancer - the meeting of a literary society, an objective and critical approach to the common factors in our culture and to its psychological problems, keyword, intellectualization. (Rudhyar Pg, 125, 126)
Alhena 7° Cancer, Two nature spirits dancing under the moonlight, the play of invisible forces in all manifestations of life, keywords, creative imagination.
8 ° Cancer, A group of rabbits dressed in human clothes walk as if on parade, the tendency in all forms of life to imitate higher forms as a stimulus to growth, keywords, learning processes (Rudhyar pg.114)
Wasat 17° Cancer, The unfoldment of multilevel potentialities issung from an original germ (or DNA strand), the life urge to actualize one's birth potential, Keyword, Growth (Rudhyar pg 121)
18° Cancer, A hen scratching the ground to find nourishment for her progeny, the practical concern with everyday nourishment necessary to sustain ones outreaching activates. Keywords, fulfilling of life's responsibilities. (Rudhyar pg. 122)
The purpose and relationship of the Sabian symbols gives us a further interruptive technique .e.g. the degree of the planets is correlated with a symbol which in turn gives you a deeper, almost intuitive explanation of your past and future karma, as well a symbolic meaning of each degree of the zodiac. My thoughts: Furthermore, these degrees and symbols are also correlated with scripture passage and give you a hint of your genetic and DNA background. I have not researched all religious scriptures and other writings such as the pyramid texts but I would bet that the degrees of the zodiac are also connected to these scriptures as well. The art of research and interpretation is the pathway to this hidden knowledge.
In addition, when studying the constellations I cannot help but think of the beauty of the next two symbols. Study them, meditate on them and more will be revealed as we commit ourselves to the Book of Knowledge.
My thoughts: When the universe was formed, matter was scattered and set itself in the heavens, forming the constellations. Each constellation has a musical tone and notes assigned to it. If you look up to the sky you will see the 'dot to dot' formations, these dots are the musical tones and notes that resonate with each constellation, and will resonate with you if you are born in that constellation! Don you not think that is just awesome? Our creator is so intelligent that we cannot comprehend the magnificence of it all. Our brains are not evolved enough to date to understand the vastness of knowledge available to us.
Sabian Symbol 29° Aries
Attunement to Cosmic Order -Listen to the inner voice, It is the voice of the whole, of which one begins to realize that one is a little part- yet a significant part, for every note of the Universal Chord has it's place and it's special meaning. (Rudhyar pg.70)
THE CONSTELLATIONS ARE SHINING BRIGHTLY IN THE NIGHT SKY
Sabian Symbols, 7° Leo
The Constellation of Stars Shine Brightly in the Night Sky - the power of basic spiritual values, which refer, to man's common humanity and to all enduring archetypes.
The nearly unchanging patterns of star groups are opposed to the sequence of ever-changing fashions and social needs. Keyword: Permanence. (Rudhyar pg.135, 136)
The Environment: This is a time to be conscious of our streets, hi-ways, schools, and communities, and in doing so we help the environment create a new clean, clear energy. We must work together, so our generations will be able to enjoy the beauty of this amazing planet we live on.

Your astrological chart is a psychological map of your personality; more specifically—your genetic coding. Your environment has also been an influence or perhaps has deepened your innate patterns.
We can change these by listening to our own intuition and surrendering to our higher self. Healing can take place through Grace ... the essence of unconditional love.
My most basic belief is "Listen to the inner voice".
